Case Study: Abbott Sports Complex

In the early summer of 2009 a tornado ripped through the dome that covered six tennis courts at the Abbott Sports Complex. The dome was insulated with fibreglass, and lay wet and torn on top of the tennis courts. Another air structure manufacturer was initially called in to repair the dome, but failed successful to do so. That’s when Abbott Sports called WASA to get them back in business. The structural damage was localized to one corner of the dome, which WASA repaired in just a couple days. Inside the dome was a different story. WASA spent 22 days repairing the inner liner. We replaced multiple full length panels, and patched almost every panel in the dome. Today, the dome looks great and it has been full of tennis players ever since!
